I believe the panicked digging at the bunker is to get at technology that will allow the launching of Weapons of Mass Destruction.
More likely, they were looking for four-eye's contact lenses.
But, let's hope he don't need'em no more.

I hate to say it, but this seems rather like non-news. I'd be more surprised if there WASN'T panicked digging at a building complex that had just eaten multiple multi-thousand-pound warheads and been turned into a pile of rubble.
That having been said, I would find it weirdly ironic if Saddam Hussein shuffled off this mortal coil in much the same way as 2,800 of our fellow citizens did in the World Trade Center...buried under thousands of tons of rubble in a collapsed building. I don't care if he was directly involved with 9/11/01 or not, if he started on his trip to Hell in a hail of falling steel and concrete...that's karma, baby. Instant karma's gonna get ya, Saddam.

Also Pentagon reports that some senior Iraqi government officials have left Baghdad, and many others are either preparing to or are in the process of leaving now. I hope the Pentagon is ordering planes to straffe vehicles in Western Iraq heading towards Syria. I hope we're not kicking ourselves later wishing we had taken measures preventing them from getting away if they manage to escape. These people are evil members of Saddam's inner circle and they must be destroyed.

Indeed, you are correct.
People have gotten MOAB on the brain here a bit.
1) It and the daisy cutter have never been dropped from anything but a C-130 cargo plane, which is not a combat aircraft.
2) In the 1991 Gulf War, NOTHING flew over Baghdad besides cruise missles and Stealth fighters. I'm sure NOTHING has flown over Baghdad so far other than cruise missles, Stealth Fighters, and (possibly today) Stealth Bombers.
3) if they won't fly F-15Es, F-14s, etc. over Baghdad, they're not going to fly a C-130 over it or near it.
4) We're not going to use a MOAB anywhere near a populated area. This bunker apparently was in the midst of a populated area.

Boy,if this is true, all of the anti-war demonstrations scheduled for this weekend are gonna be kinda borring, plus I'm thinkin'about not even watching the Acadamy Awards, since the Hollywierd crowd won't have reason for anti-Bush,anti-war stuff to bitch about..
WAIT!!! They can REOPEN the red carpet pre-ceremonies now!! And since FOX won't have to have all their reporters covering the war now that it's over,...FOX news can be the reporting team that does all the interviews for the red carpet festivities!!!!.....hmmm, YEAH ,That's the ticket!!!

Yeah, they're beating feet to Syria.Nonsense, they're going out for cigarettes and the morning paper.
Fleeing Iraqi Minister to Peter Arnett:
"Oh, I will be back soon Peter. You'll see. Wait here. What? Saddam? He's well. No, he's not at all dead. Not true. Never better. Why I just left him. He's playing squash".

Joe Iraqi doesn't get that kind of medical attention.
Only a BMOC gets that kind of attention. Hussein is either dead or brain dead. Either way, he won't hurt anyone ever again.

You mean they didn't pass the Kool Aid bucket?
Man, nothing is the way it used to be. Things were way easy back then.

"Media have noted that Iraq hasn't brought reporters to see the civilian casualties like in the Gulf War. It's because there aren't any.Petah Arnett said he was at the Al Rashid Hotel on the balcony watching the 1.7 mile long presidential palace and other huge buildings just disintegrate. He was only a couple hundred yards away and felt perfectly safe. People in the neighborhood came outside in their robes and bedroom slippers and walked toward the Euphrates River to watch in shock and awe.

Change to my original. Fox News now reports that Saddam's message wad that the Iraqis will treat allied POW's fair. I think even if he is alive, he's in no condition to give orders. I'm thinking life support.

I think that our Defense Department and administration know much more than they are telling. The news is trickling out as they want it to. This tells me that they may be using this as some kind of psychological pressure against the remaining loyalists in Iraq. Of course, I could be wrong and maybe they just got the images. But, it really sounds like Hussein is dead. I hope so.
