You are absolutely right. Defending the borders begins with Bush, and ends with him. After 9/11, he had the political cover to take a stand and finally secure our borders -- but he looked the other way as he put Fox's interests, big business's, and those of the "illegal alien voting lobby" all ahead of the law-abiding American taxpayers he has sworn to protect and defend. Right. I think part of his thinking is that he can capture the hispanic vote by showing laxity toward Mexico (and by nominating Estrada and by speaking Spanish, etc.) And that is a bad strategy, cynical and not putting America first.
