I'm not generally worried about public opinion and having lived in Connecticut (liberaland) am used to being on a different side than those around me. However, my fear is the world will not forgive our use of such overwhelming force. I'm not debating the correctness of our action - history will judge that and I believe in our cause. But PR being what it is today - it's going to be a hard image to overcome. Just my humble opinion.

You can't live your life by PR... the US is damned if we do and damned if we don't. You do what is right and continue on...
We are doing this because on 9/11, 3,000 people went to work... and never came home! Remember them... and forget the world.

Peach, FNC reported that everybody who could get out of Baghdad (I think I heard the figure 4 million) had left the city and gone to the country.

Have to say I agree with you, Peach.
The world will look at the smoke and firepower and react with knee-jerk emotionalism, not reason. What weapon did they expect us to use against Saddam? Poison ivy?
We can only pray that when the smoke clears and the humanitarian work begins, they will see clearly.
I'm not holding my breath. They, like the protestors here, have willingly given themselves over to a spirit of deception.

This is not half of what we could do. We are hitting government targets. We will be hated but respected. I'm sick of the people who have no solutions blaming us for solving one problem. War is not supposed to be a fair fight. The option of being well thought of on their terms means a nice eulogy for the US.
