It may have been Sadaam but it sure looked like it was taped earlier. Something about it looked really odd or fake. Both my husband and I thought so almost immediately.
I just got on FR and I'm not sure where to start. So many threads....so little time.
Can anybody give me a synopsis?

It did seem like a tape, but, a while ago a Fox reporter commented that Saddam hates to wear his glasses in public (makes him look weak) and he was wearing his glasses for this speech which made the Fox reported assume it was a "last minute speech".
During Saddam's speech last night we could hear gunshots in the background, but not distant background. More than one shot. My husband and I figured he must have another execution squad working, if it was a pre-recorded tape. Anyone else notice the gunshots?

We made lots of progress in S. Iraq,
taking a couple towns toward Basra.
The Kurds in N. formally join forces
with us on that front. Baghdad hit a
lot harder, but no shock & awe yet.
Some surrenders & revolts against SH,
Rep.Guard leaders crumbling. SH was
on TV, says WH, don't know when taped.
