Dear Lord, prayers for the families. They may need to ground the choppers with all the sand storms.

Joining you in prayer for all our troops tonight.
Please, Lord, turn that dust storm predicted for tomorrow around the other way, into the face of the enemy.
Lord, gather into your kingdom the brave souls who went down in that helicopter tonight. Take them from Glory to Glory. Console those who love them; for whom life will never be the same again.
Please protect all Americans who are far away from home and on foreign soil during this war. Stay the hand of the terrorists who would harm them--our missionaries, our embassy personnel, our charitable societies who bring your love far afield.
Give an extra measure of consolation tonight Lord to mothers of sons and daughters who are far away making great sacrifices. Grant them all a quiet night and a peaceful sleep.
Amen.

Fox news said 12 Americans, 4 british..1st story..I can't find anything else about the second crash (if any) yet...
yahoo news Marine Chopper Crash Kills 16 in Kuwait 2 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - A U.S. Marine helicopter crashed in Kuwait Thursday, killing all 16 American and British soldiers aboard, military officials said.
The crash of the CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter killed 12 U.S. and 4 British soldiers, officials said. U.S. military officials said they did not have further details about the crash. Military officials said they did not know if the helicopter had been hit by hostile fire or crashed for some other reason. The Marines use the Sea Knight, a bus-like helicopter with two large rotors, to fly troops from ships at sea or base camps to forward positions. The Navy and Marines grounded all 291 Sea Knight helicopters in August after an inspection of one helicopter in North Carolina found a crack in a rotor assembly. A Marine Corps CH-46 crashed in 2001, killing three Marines and injuring two.

Yes, earlier in the day, they mentioned a number of choppers having 'hard landings'!! That means they were 'near crashes' too!! Regards, Carol
