All stations this net - All stations this net.
Go to Blue Frequency Alpha November Foxtrot, Plus 5, at Zulu 0700 minus Zebra 9. Prepare to copy new conspiracy directive issued by Behemoth niner niner. Wearing of tin foil hats during receipt of msg is mandatory. All stations acknowledge and authenticate. Enterprise authenticates Foxtrot Foxtrot "cirrus 5." Enterprise out.

D*mn it, Jim! I'm a doctor not a bug exterminator!
Ah, sorry, the absurdity is contagious. Hey, you know how I found this article? I found it via the Australian blogger Tim Blair. How he found it, I don't have a clue. How he found it, before we did, is amazing.
Here's his post:
The Dixie Chicks are attempting the risky Hillary Gambit:
Are the Dixie Chicks victims of a right-wing conspiracy?
That's what their manager, Simon Renshaw, has told country music stations being pressured to drop the Chicks' music after lead singer Natalie Maines criticized President Bush last week.
In an e-mail to stations distributed by Sony Music, their label, Renshaw says the protest has been orchestrated by Free Republic.
"Your company is being targeted by a radical right-wing online forum," Renshaw says in the e-mail. "You are being 'Freeped,' which is the code word for an organized e-mail/telephone effort attempting to solicit a desired response."
"Freeped" is a code word?

When did we become radicals? Since joining this forum, I have seen every viewpoint expressed, and in fact I have read posts where members were encouraging people who had different views to speak up, in order to promote intelligent, rational, conversation.
I'd say we should send messages to the chicks manager, but he's clearly too close minded to pay any attention. If he had taken the time to poke around the forums and learn about us, he wouldn't have made such a silly comments.

All stations have acknowledged and authenticated. Commmence new conspiracy operation "Zanzibar." Enterprise authenticates Kilo Lima Xray. Enterprise out.

Yes!!!! We forced the chick to say really goofy, ignorant crap, we we could THEN attack her for being goofy and ignorant.
To: Jabba the Nutt
The Web site also alleges that recent anti-war protests are "communist-organized demonstrations."
At least this reporter could have done his J.O.B., and checked out the "alleged" comment, but that would be work.

LOL!
Someone finally asks!
It's from a comic strip, Sluggy Freelance. It's supposed to be "Emergency Pants," but I didn't feel like beating babelfish up for the correct word.

I had a lib co-worker complaining to me yesterday about how terrible it was that we actually protested about the chicks, as if we don't have that right.
I guess the difference between a conservative and a lib is: it's much safer to conduct a freep campaign than it would be to stand in front of a bulldozer to get your point across. I haven't heard of anyone yet who has died as the result of an email protest!

Conspiracy? What conspiracy? Where is the crime? Oh, sure, they support those conspiring to block roads as we speak, but call others the conspirers...
