Interesting note: A Sheryl Crow video plays regularly on CMT, and has actually been number one (on CMT's Most Wanted Live) and nobody says a thing. ("Picture" by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow.)

One difference is that Sheryl Crow doesn't need the country audience. Also, it's not the views that's the problem here - the problem is how and where they were expressed.

That's because we haven't challenged the libs in a long time regarding free speech. Well, we are now and we are not taking it. We will not be silenced. The ones that challange us will soon know that we will not support them in their endeavors to bring America down. I am not going to live under communisium, socialism, etc. This country was built on many backs and the wars that were fought to get us to freedom and keep us in freedom by those many is just to precious to be ignored.

encourage people NOT to buy concert paraphanalia. You could also tell the lipton reps where to put their tea samples.

I still like the idea of filling their stands with smelly repulsive homless and druggies.

call it making an example. Its not fair but its true. IT does not mean that Manes did not say what she said and then tried to repudiate it. I believe the fake appology and the manager's CYA insult letter supported by sony is what really stoked the fires here.

This year, the concert I most wanted to see was the Dixie Chicks, but when i visited their web site, I learned that the only way I could purchase "advace tickets" before they were made available to the general public was to become a member of their fan club (for about a $39 fee...). This angered me, as the ticket prices were already steep at around $70 for the good seats. I was planning on taking my wife and two daughters.

There was no way I was going to pay an extra fee to join their fan club just so that I could have the privilege of dropping nearly $300 on tickets earlier than the general peon public.

So now, I am glad that they pissed me off with their membership fee because this is the last concert on earth I would want to see. If their web site had permitted me to buy my tickets without becoming some lame "fan", then I too would be stuck with 4 tickets that would never be used. I'd burn them before I'd go to their concert.

Re: ...and back in the late 70's the Air Force Base nearby had a pilot training program and the son of the Shaw of Iran lived in Lubbock while training at that base...

That was Reece AFB and I was a Quality Control Engineer on the construction of a Flight Simulator Facility that was put up just before the son got there. BTW is Fat Dawgs (Dogs) still there?

If they and their manager keep up the idiocy, the only way anyone will be able to see them in the future is to look at the 'adult video' section in the video store.
Yes, I'm suggesting that they'll be bankrupt and end up as prostitutes.
Wait.. they're already prostitutes.
Never mind.

"Maines married into Iranian family" - there's more light. She also needs to know that the children for whom she is so concerned, have been treated by the Iraqi government as prisoners of war. Children of parents who dared to think they had freedom of speech and action were thrown in jails in Iraq. Quite a contrast with our form of government! These uncelebrated characters become so deceived, due to their love of money, which is indeed the root of all evil.

No, I am in Corsicana (56 miles south of Dallas). Enjoyed my 14 months in Lubbock but though it weird that you had to leave town to find a package store for beer or Jim Beam.

Passed through the Big L 10 years ago on a trip to Vegas, didn't look much different.

Hope you make it back to the Promise Land sometime soon. If I win the Lottery I'll hire you hubby. It was $35 million last night, let me check my numbers.

Rats, I didn't win but 6 other did. Take care,

Danny Clay

I don't have the ability to post a picture from work, but just in case you are terminally ill, here is a link to Kiss' website, where you can purchase a "Kiss Kasket"

I own three! Not.

"The Dixie Chicks have the right to say what they want. And fans have the right to never buy their CDs, go to their concerts or listen to them on the radio. That's called living in a free society. The Chicks are learning that the hard way."

Note about Babs: never forget the televised concert she did not long after bashing our president. She got like 2% of the Neilson ratings. 70 % of Americans in support of our president's policy in Iraq, and 75 % of Americans absolutely DISGUSTED with the shamelessly craven way the UN tried to shield Saddam no matter HOW many illegal weapons Blixie boy announced were discovered works out to far more than just country fans.

There's a big percentage of rock fans in this crowd, and I'm one - though I spread Have You Forgotten out as soon as seeing the story about it in the Washington Times a few weeks ago. I might not be a huge country fan, but THAT is a good song.

The bottom line is this: What the swollen headed elites don't get is that capitalism works. The MEDIA might not report the opinions of mainstream America, but we can sure SHOW our opinion effectively.

I grew up in Lubbock and went to Texas Tech. I watched Reese AFB go from B25s to T33s to T38s. I really hated to see it closed down.

I moved away from there because of the terrible sandstorms they had back in my younger years. As you can tell I am a "senior" citizen.

The reality is summed up very well here: The Dixie Chicks have the right to say what they want. And fans have the right to never buy their CDs, go to their concerts or listen to them on the radio. That's called living in a free society. The Chicks are learning that the hard way.
