about 2 eastern I heard on the radio that as the marines went over the iraq border that some of the 101 was disappointed that they couldn't go. The reporter said they would be used later for more important strikes.

That is why we are holding back...to see how it shakes out.....looks like cracks are forming in the Iraqi senior leadership.

It would be nice if this could cause the leadership to fall apart, without any huge military campaign...
but on the other hand this restrained pace of events could simply give them time to pull themselves together and become more defiant instead.

Looks like order is being restored - some arrests made, and the crowd moved back. I guess we should expect reports of police brutality next.

I keep wondering where Ollie North is. He's with an airborne Marine unit and they haven't been heard from all day. I keep thinking about airborne forces and the river bridge(s).
