When I heard that they F-117s dropped those one ton bunker busters (GDU-24?), I was shocked. Those require laser "painting", don't they? If so, that's a pretty good sign that we had some CIA mole or a Delta Force guy on location to identify the presence of Saddam or "those frisky young boys" of his in order to guide that mofo.
Tomorrow is going to be a big, big day. The "leadership target" attack was a bold gambit that would never have been undertaken, IMO, unless the War team in the White House had pretty good intelligence that bad guys were in the house. I hope we blew them all to smithereens.
Yep, but the 117 carries its own laser designator. The aircraft has a FLIR system that functions in conjunction with the laser designation system. So they can paint with the laser and drop as well.
