They might just be testing out the link tonight to see how it works.

For me the novelty is in seeing and hearing simultaneously a place that's halfway around the world on essentially live TV.

It's the technology, not the content.

We have trafficams in this country all over, but having the sound added to it, really adds to the overall effect.

This was reinforced by the call to prayer.

If you think back to how novel it was to have Bernie broadcasting live with a night vision camera from Baghdad back in 1991 and seeing the AAA going off in the sky, this is just as novel to me except that after a while it will be like watching paint dry. That is, until the planes start flying and our troops start dropping in.

I agree totally. The call to prayer was surreal given the distance and the fact that I'm doing all of this over an Wi-Fi connection. Now I was hearing birds singing while my wife and I are getting ready for bed. Very cool. ;-)

Can you figure out the actual URL for the stream? I got it to work, but my IE/WMP version combo seems goofy on the full-screen version.
