When Iraqi troops realize that their every military machine they have is utterly kaput ... and nothing with electrical motor or gasoline engine will run ... they will surrender by the thousands. When the leaders see they cannot communicate by radio or telephone they will start running as well.

I hope Saddam has a fast camel, because that is the only way he might "get outa Dodge."

If we were really good capitalists we would be offering a free CD or toaster oven or something to the first 10,000 defectors.

15 Iraqi soldiers guarding the border surrendered and crossed over to Kuwait this evening

Out of firing range of their superiors, I'd say.

Has anyone worried about these guys being plants, exposed to various nasty viruses and then released at the front of the Allied advance?

They are believed to be the first Iraqis to have surrendered

The war didn't even begin yet ---evidence that the French have assisted in training the Iraqi army.

As I said on another thread, I have the feeling the troops are going to be safer than we are.

However, I don't believe any "so called" Iraqi agents in the US will carry out any acts of terrorism. They'll surrender, too. But, Al Quaeda are different.
