'To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the Presdient, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.'
President Theodore Roosevelt

Natalie has the right to say she is ashamed of our president
Natalie has the right to say she is well within her rights
Natalie has the right to quote others who agree with her
We the People have the right to be angered by her comments
We the People have the right to not pay attention to her
We the People have the right to peacably express our opinions regarding her statement.
Natalie has the right to be upset that some people who liked her before don't like her anymore
Natalie has the right to not agree with the reasons We the People liked her but don't like her anymore
We the people have the right to forget the fact that she ever existed...
...because We the People are intelligent contributers to our society regardless of whether or not we can sing or play a musical instrument, though I suspect many of us can.
We the People hold the keys to the future of America, not the Dixie Chix

Miss Natalie probably doesn't know who Teddy Roosevelt is. If asked, I bet her response would be "Hey, he was the President during World War II."
Natalie, here's another Teddy Roosevelt quote for you: "Speak softly and carry a big stick."
I'd say George Bush does more honor to TR than you do.

Great quotes...sums it up pretty well.

"What does the FATHER of Natalie's child have to say?"It appears that he has more sense than she, but not the ability to control her runaway mouth.
Which is a good thing. I always liked him as Declan on "Mysterious Ways".

If you emphasize the word "right" in the quote, it actually sums up the democratic position accurately -
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."
In other words, to a democrat, to stand by or agree with a republican president, even when he is right, is so utterly repugnant to their democrat "morals" that they consider it unpatriotic and treasonable.

I'm fine with that Roosevelt quote. But "We're ashamed that our president is from Texas" is not constructive criticism, IMO.

You would think Natalie-babe and her manager would know the Golden Rule . . .
When you step knee-deep in it, sometimes the best comment is not to make one.All these two idiots are doing is making it worse. I was just about over my Chicks-hissy until her manager called me and the rest of us FReepers radicals. Now Single-digit IQ Natalie spends a week searching for a quote, ANY QUOTE, to cover her broad and dumb ass.
Oh well . . . the war is back on in my house. I might be a radical . . . but I didn't need Free Republic to make me one. All FR has done is provide a forum for us "conservative radicals" to filter through the liberal-biased news so we can come up with the TRUTH and then plot a course of action.
So . . . if all conservatives are considered radicals by Natalie-babe and her manager, I'm sure her conservative country and western fans will be thrilled to hear it.

Perhaps someone should tell Ms. Maines that the secret to flying is to throw yourself at the ground - and miss!
To: GraniteStateConservative
"Both of the sisters in the group have said that she doesn't speak for them."
Sorry, but by not speaking up right after Natalie did on that stage in front of their fans, the sisters tacitly let Natalie be their spokesperson, in which case she was speaking for the Dixie Chicks.
