Unpatriotic Conservatives

"I respect and admire the French, who have been a far greater nation than we shall ever be, that is, if greatness means anything loftier than money and bombs."
— THOMAS FLEMING, "HARD RIGHT," MARCH 13, 2003

rom the very beginning of the War on Terror, there has been dissent, and as the war has proceeded to Iraq, the dissent has grown more radical and more vociferous. Perhaps that was to be expected. But here is what never could have been: Some of the leading figures in this antiwar movement call themselves "conservatives."

These conservatives are relatively few in number, but their ambitions are large. They aspire to reinvent conservative ideology: to junk the 50-year-old conservative commitment to defend American interests and values throughout the world — the commitment that inspired the founding of this magazine — in favor of a fearful policy of ignoring threats and appeasing enemies.

And they are exerting influence. When Richard Perle appeared on Meet the Press on February 23 of this year, Tim Russert asked him, "Can you assure American viewers . . . that we're in this situation against Saddam Hussein and his removal for American security interests? And what would be the link in terms of Israel?" Perle rebutted the allegation. But what a grand victory for the antiwar conservatives that Russert felt he had to air it.

The GOP, after the `95 budget battle, the `96 election, and the `98, figured correctly that the paleo-cons and their all-or-nothing attitude were not worth the trouble they were causing, and decided to tell them to take a hike.

The result: The purists left to the Reform party, and the GOP was able to win in 2000 (albeit by a close margin in Florida), and to make further gains in 2002.

But Estrada isn't a WASP - which is, of course, the only immigrant worth a warm spit in their book.

Estrada should be an icon of our sublime American blessing. He is that icon. That's why the scumbag Democrats hate him.

"The single most stupid comment I (unfortunately) continue to see on this forum is "We need to close our borders."

Well, that and "Pat Buchanan is a true conservative".

Luis, observing this forum over the years I've uncovered one unerring empirical truth:

"Anyone who uses the words 'free', 'patriot', or 'true' in their forum moniker is a spectacularly insufferable pantload."

You need to get away from all this party bull sh*t and all of this party agenda garbage......I don't give a damn who belongs to what party or what votes they may want...

This open border madness will eventually destroy this country. I don't give a flying rats butt what beltway party, or which politician steps up to the plate to end this epic invasion of millions....While all these people point fingers at each other, and continue this endless stupid debate, our country continues to be invaded by hundreds of thousands of people that that are crashing our borders.

All these stupid ass names, like neocons, paleocons and all the other crap is going to eventually choke us off......

The GD bottom line is that it's the Federal Government's responsibility is to protect our border and our sovereignty, and damn it, they are not doing it, and it appears that they have no intention of doing it.

If intentional or not, the government has failed it's duties and most in government that are responsible, should be forced to resign and face criminal charges.

A government that will not or cannot protect our borders, will itself, eventually become illegitimate.

"Hey, Luis my friend, I can no longer in good conscience promise to buy you a bottle Dom Perignon when Castro takes his underworld express train."

Huge struggle between my patriotism and my wine rack these past few weeks my friend. Those bottles of Möet White Star, Taittinger, Pommery...and the jewel of them all, my pampered bottles of Louis Reoderer Cristal...

But patriotism was rising far above hedonism, and it looked bad for my wine rack, so I made a decision, and in a moment of incredible clarity yelled out "piss on the French".

Then suddenly, I had a plan.

You are hereby officially invited to my "Piss On The French" party.

You worry about the "stupid ass names"? Then talk to the rest of your fringe under 1%, which have been hurling around "neocon" like an epithet for quite a while. Engage on PR, and quit gratuitously pissing people off.

PJB is the most negative destructive person out there

He might be, if anyone serious cared at all about his rants. It doesn't even matter anymore if he occasionally makes a lucid point, his blindered isolationism and anti-Semitism have him flailing in a death spiral.

The GD bottom line is that it's the Federal Government's responsibility is to protect our border and our sovereignty... And, as I stated, the GOP under Newt tried to do just that. Try reading my post before denouncing it.

You are also invited to my official "Piss On The French" party.

Bring your imported bottles, and let them do their natural thing.

P.S. Bring your own French flag or picture of Chirac to use as a target.

The rest of *my* fringe 1%? LOL!

Look Chancellor, unlike many here, that I wont mention, I don't have any favorites here, and don't run around and ping my buddies to support me on threads etc etc. I don't run around in little cliques or coyote packs on the Free Republic. LOL... I am not looking to score in any popularity contest here Chancellor, like some do daily.

My post #270 are my words, and it stands....If it pisses people off, to bad, Palpatine.

I always speak my mind. Don't like it? Don't read it or respond to it. Or better yet, shut off your computer, drink a cool one, and relax.

Some folks do not have room for such things as facts or political reality. Particularly when it conflicts with their agenda.
