A Marine Corps spokesman yesterday said that despite France's failure to support the U.S. military buildup against Iraq, they won't cancel a 5-month-old contract with a French company to manage 55 Marine mess halls.

I hope The Corp has Ch-Iraq as a taster. I wouldn't put it past the CESM's to contaminate anything they are providing to our lads.

The first case of food poisoning suffered would be an act of war. Today Iraq, tomorrow France and then the world!

Vivat Pax Americana!

I wouldn't worry about the CESM's themselves, but rather the rather large Islamic presence among them. What kind of security precautions goes into the manufacture of those foods?

It's fitting, they've been cooking for other nation's armies since Waterloo.

The French are wise to give up on being a military power and focus on their only redeeming quality.

A Turkish paper just carried a story that US military personnel in Turkey will drink nothing but French bottled water which they brought along by the truckloads.

Shares in French catering company Sodexho plunged 14 per cent on the Paris stock market on Monday, after a radio report that it had lost a US$1 billion ($1.83 billion) contract with the US Marines.

It's good to know that after a hard day of liberating Iraq our leathernecks can chow down to a hearty meal of truffles and escargot quiche. Yummy!...
