Man does that ever make sense. I never believed in luck.
Hmmm...this is a rather contentious issue for this Celebrity Judge. Might be better if I plead 'diplomatic immunity' on this one! ;-)

by Mia T, 4.6.03 Mia T, THE ALIENS Al From is sounding the alarm. "Unless we convince Americans that Democrats are strong on national security," he warns his party, "Democrats will continue to lose elections." Helloooo? That the Democrats have to be spoon-fed what should be axiomatic post-9/11 is, in and of itself, incontrovertible proof that From's advice is insufficient to solve their problem. From's failure to fully lay out the nature of the Democrats' problem is not surprising: he is the guy who helped seal his party's fate. It was his Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) that institutionalized the proximate cause of the problem, clintonism, and legitimized its two eponymic provincial operators on the national stage. The "Third Way" and "triangulation" don't come from the same Latin root for no reason. That "convince" is From's operative word underscores the Democrats' dilemma. Nine-eleven was transformative. It is no longer sufficient merely to convince. One must demonstrate, demonstrate convincingly, if you will
which means both in real time and historically. When it comes to national security, Americans will no longer take any chances. Turning the turn of phrase back on itself, the era of the Placebo President is over. (Incidentally, the oft-quoted out-of-context sentence fragment alluded to here transformed meaningless clinton triangulation into a meaningful if deceptive soundbite.) Although From is loath to admit it -- the terror in his eyes belies his facile solution -- the Democratic party's problem transcends its anti-war contingent. With a philosophy that relinquishes our national sovereignty -- and relinquishes it reflexively
and to the UN no less -- the Democratic party is, by definition, the party of national insecurity. With policy ruled by pathologic self-interest -- witness the "Lieberman Paradigm," Kerry's "regime change" bon mot (gone bad), Edwards' and the clintons' brazen echoes thereof (or, alternatively, Pelosi's less strident wartime non-putdown putdown)
and, of course, the clincher -- eight years of the clintons' infantilism, grotesquerie and utter failure -- the Democratic party is, historically and in real time, the party of national insecurity. The Democrats used to be able to wallpaper their national insecurity with dollars and demogoguery. But that was before 9/11. |
Black XIX is Coming...MUD
A gypsy wind is blowing warm tonight
The sky is starlit and the time is right
And still you're tellin' me you have to go
Before you leave there's something you should know
Yeah something you should know babe
I've seen you smiling in the summer sun
I've seen your long hair flying when you run
I've rnade my mind up that it's meant to be
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Out where the rivers meet the sounding sea
You're high above me now, you're wild and free ah but
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Some people say that love's a losin' game
You start with fire but you lose the flame
The ashes smolder but the warmth's soon gone
You end up cold and lonely on your own
I'll take my chances babe I'll risk it all
I'll winyour love or I'll take the fall
I've made my mind up girl it's meant to be
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
It's written down some where, it's not to be
You're high above me flyin' wild and free
Oh but someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Out where the rivers meetthe sounding sea
I feel it in my soul, it's meant to be
Oh someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Somedaylady you'll accomp'ny me
Justice Is Nigh...MUD
HA!!
Hmmmmm; your propensity for dreaming may be your Saving Grace, Angel#1.
Dreaming can & does keep one "young" regardless of what the calendar says.
Anyway, on that note I picked out a *song*, just for you.
Here...
----------
"A world become one, of salads and sun
Only a fool would say that
A boy with a plan
A *natural* man
Wearing a white Stetson hat
Unhand that gun begone(!)
There's no one to fire upon
If he's holding *it* high(?)
He's telling a *lie*
-I heard it was you
-Talkin' 'bout a world where all is free
-It just couldn't be
-And only a fool would say that
The man in the street, is dragging his feet
Don't wanna hear the "bad news"
Imagine your face, there in his place
Standing inside his brown shoes
You do his nine to five
Drag yourself home half alive
And there on the screen
A man with a dream
-I heard it was you
-Talkin' 'bout a world where all is free
-It just couldn't be
-And only a fool would say that
Anybody on the street
Has murder in his eyes
You feel no pain
And you're younger then you realize.
-I heard it was you
-Talkin' 'bout a world where all is free
-It just couldn't be
-And only a fool would say that
----------
Oh I think you "recognise" 'em alright, H1, & just in the nick of time I should think.
Before they could [seriously] hurt you; or, steal your soul.
...such encounters are very essence of what experience "is."
It is.
I'm as mentally & physically prepared as I'm going to be.
Have been saying to myself, "Let's roll," since I woke up.
My testosterone tank's been capped-off.
I pity the poor SOB who draws me, tonight.
...I truly do. {g}
