Cool...put the same research into religions! It will give you a better understanding of Christianity and better fuel to debate the faults in other religions. ;o) Plus, it's interesting....just gives you a better understand of people & cultures in a whole.

However self-taught doesn't mean reading one book and considering yourself an authority on it.

I never considered myself the authority on non-positive private law. I consider myself the authority of the common law of the man as opposed to the civil law which is based on Roman Canon law.

Goldi, I can quote scripture with you until the cows come home....I'm not going to get into that. I don't doubt your faith, no more than I doubt my own. I would die for my faith in God & Jesus. All I am saying is you need to study more than just one version of the bible and you need to research other religions to gain a better understanding of Christianity. Take it for what it's worth, you don't have to..just a friendly suggestion to make your faith stronger and help you to be among the world but not of it...after all, Jesus calls us to be disciples, how can you teach someone your faith and win them to your ways if you don't understand why they believe the way they do?
