Green weenies looking to shut down the barbecue pits.

Ah ha! I was wondering what they were going to go after when they're done banning tobacco and fast food.

Trying to shut down barbeque in Texas might just be enough to cause the next civil war...

He added fine particles, such as those that come from cooking meat, are a health concern because they can penetrate deep into the lungs and lead to respiratory and heart problems. Ahh but what a way to go. Death by barbeque or BBQ take your choice.

Any pollution from barbecue is dwarfed by car exhaust.

Well, they should measure the air levels when the pine trees start to shed the pollen. The sky has be YELLOW here for the past week due to all of the plants and trees welcoming Spring.

According to a study from scientists at Rice University...Rice put Lee P. Brown on the payroll so he could hang around and run for Mayor. That act alone has produced more pollution in Houston than any number of barbeque pits.

We found out this weekend that burning leaves and brush is now illegal in Texas cities. I jokingly told my wife the next step will be banning outdoor cooking. These bunny huggers will stop short of nothing to incrementally erode all personal freedom.
I say let 'em try to extinguish my pit. I burned my brush, and by gum I'll cook over fire till the day I die.
They'll have to pry the tongs from my cold, dead fingers!

Any pollution from barbecue is dwarfed by car exhaust.Don't kid yourself.
There are already places in the United States where it is illegal to use your fireplace.
Too many people generating too much pollution.
The more people you pack into this country, the less freedom you will have.
They should stop immigration--we are full up!
To: Poohbah
Wouldn't that be "white-hot, sauce-covered hands"?
I hope they burn their hands on my barbecue.

Where we live and breath MEAT... Great title for Monicas autobiography.

I remember a few years ago, Kalifornia's AQMD (Air Quality Manglement District) was trying to get restaurants - and rib joints in particular - to install some sort of smog devices. I never did hear the result of this effort.
