To me, Cheney is the intellect of the administration. Great post, though. I must add, however, that Ashcroft is a lightweight. Was his omission innocent?

AG Ashcroft graduated from Yale with honors. I suppose he would be a lightweight compared with Ms. Rice., but not against the intellectually "elite" on the left.

I'd say Condi Rice supplies raw brainpower while Rumsfeld and Cheney supply the experience. W has a good team with him.

Thanks. Maybe you're right--and admittedly demeanor has something to do with it; however, to watch Cheney eviscerate the Sunday morning show hosts is to watch an artist in action, similar to the time that Herb Kelleher got hold of Sam Donaldson.
