She had no love for her country, why should we grieve? I'm sorry for her parents.

The second photo is taken from a lower angle, down in the trench in which the dozer was operating. It's the same bulldozer. No need to whip out the tinfoil for no reason.

Rachel Corrie, a 23-year-old terrorism advocate from Olympia, Wash., died in a bulldozer accident yesterday. Corrie was at fault in the accident, which occurred when she either stood or crouched in front of an Israeli Defense Forces bulldozer in Gaza, the
Jerusalem Post reports:
(Of interest to you.)--->The bulldozers were part of an IDF tunnel- and mine-clearing operation. The Rafah refugee camp borders Egypt, from which Palestinian terrorists smuggle in weapons and explosives. And according to interim peace accords, Israel has the right to operate in and secure the area.
Corrie not only backed anti-Israeli terrorism; she also hated America. An Associated Press photo shows Corrie, her face contorted with hate, burning a "mock U.S. flag" at a pro-Saddam rally last month. (Hat tip: Little Green Footballs.) Reuters reports on a "symbolic funeral" that drew some 1,000 Palestinian Arabs. One of them tells the "news" service: "We fly a U.S. flag today to show our support to all American peace lovers, those like Rachel." If she were still alive, no doubt she'd have burned the flag.
It's a shame that Rachel Corrie died the way she did. It's shameful that she lived the way she did.

I am not surprised that Miss Corry did what she did and sacrificed her life.
I am surprised that it doesn't happen more often.
I lived in the SF Bay Area for 10 years and still recall the time (1988?) when another addle-brained liberal named Brian Willson sat in front of a train heading into the Navy Depot in Concord and while he didn't die, he lost both legs when the train crushed the lower part of his body.
It was a stupid, moronic thing to do. The train was traveling less than 5 mph so in essence he was playing chicken with a 50-ton machine. The local media made him a cause celebre but his action stopped nothing and prevented nothing.
Liberals need martyrs and rather than Jesus Christ they idolize the Rachel Corries and Brian Willsons of the world.

It sounds like you are more confident that this was an act of God than am I. I'm rather more hesitant than you seem to be to ascribe this event to God's will.
Or, at least to His perfect will. As I intimated earlier, we have no way of knowing whether His will included a later change of mind in the deceased; she wouldn't be the first young person to have done so. We do know, however, that He desires that "none should perish". That's a dangerous line for man to cross.
It's one thing to kill a person out of necessity; it's another to gloat about it, as many here have done. But then, while they normally share much in common, ultimately there is a fine but definite dividing line between patriotism and Christian discipleship.

***What explanation is the IDF offering after its initial report that this young American woman ran in front of the bulldozer, when the photos clearly show her simply standing, not moving, in a brightly colored coat and what looks like a bullhorn?***
I think the point is that she was in FRONT of the bulldozer when it was clearly moving toward her. I'm sure she had plenty of time to move and avoid her ultimate demise.
Nominate this girl for a Darwin Award!

Perhaps you should bother to read the terms of the land handout at Oslo that gave the Gaza strip to Arafat. It clearly states that a 100 meter buffer zone between gaza and Israel is to be kept in Israeli Military control, free of all building as a DMZ between Egypt and Israel. In many areas now the 100 meter wide strip has been reduced by illegal building to less than a couple of car widths in size.
I don't care how many buildings you build on your neighbors land, you still don't own it, and when the bulldozers come to clear your stuff off of that land, playing wheel chock is NOT a good idea.
To: dennisw
By the way, It turns out she was not run over by the Bulldozer but was killed when a wall that was knocked over by the dozer fell on her.
To: onetimeatbandcamp
they're acting as if its not common for israel to run over people non-violently defending homes. As this is the first time, I would think that perhaps it qualifies as not common. Ya think?
To: winodog
Yes, isn't that weird? Such hatred in front of the children. "Kindergarten Teacher Loses It". Anyway, I don't see much hatred in the children's faces. They are probably wondering about lunch.
I surmise that the hard core male Palestinian fighters distanced themselves from this crazy American lady but found a good "mission" for this poor useful idiot.
Let's see. If she had been blown up in the twin towers, they would have rejoiced in her death. I'm sure they are secretly happy at the death of this young American, and are milking all the agit prop they can get out of her assisted suicide. In this case, the Palestinians were Dr. Kevorkian.

Does anyone have link to the picture of this roadkill when she was burning the American Flag?

Peace activist Rachel Corrie is shown at the Burning Man festival Burning man festival? She was wasting time there when she could have been out keeping the world safe for terrorist bombers?

I haven't heard that one yet. Where did you see that?
To: dennisw
At least she died the way she chose to go.SInce she wanted to go that way, Fine! That's one less freaky activist to deal with at Burningman this year. I wonder which of her friends will use her ticket? The "international solidarity movement" labelled her, and I Quote: "The Heart and Soul of The Movement". By the way, I wonder how it feels to have your heart "crushed"?( A more than fair double entendre)
