Thank you for this thoughtful comment.

The entertainers you named are celebrities solely because of their artistic talent.

They have not been elected to represent anyone. They have not been asked to speak for anyone. Each one of them speaks his own opinion – just one person’s opinion. No more, no less.

They are financially able to travel to places (within and without the U.S.) to perform before their fans and groupies. They can pick and choose their audiences; the media follows them around. They can “duck out” when they are challenged; they can “lay it on thick” when encouraged.

It goes without saying, that since they don’t represent anyone – they’re not accountable to anyone.

This is what makes me angry.

They have no authority, they have no responsibility, they have no accountability. In fact they can be (and usually are) irresponsible in most areas of their own lives. Yet they criticize our representatives, who MUST be responsible or else answer to their constituents.

Perhaps these celebrities have confused real life with the world of “That’s Entertainment!” You think?

You said it better than I could have in your post. I've always been of the mind, why should I listen to somebody who makes a living pretending to be somebody they're not?

Great post and great comments!

In a way you can't blame many of these screwballs for viewing the world as nothing but a big movie set. They've been so far removed from reality most of their lives they couldn't shed an honest tear or feel an honest emotion if they got hit in the ass with a bulldozer.

Sorry. I'm just fed up with all their hate America crap. The same goes for those who suck at the toes of these 'bad actors.' All I can to them is, stay hunkered in your studios and stay the hell out of the real world or be accused of being a bad American as well.

And if I wanted the opinion of a high school kid on what our defense policy should be, I'd ask my grandson. At least he's not a pinko commie socialist pretending to be an actor.

Post Script: Shakespeare had it wrong. The whole world is not a stage after all. There's real blood in the streets.
