I'm no fan of the man but I don't read his comment that way. In fact I don't see how you can read it that way.

If the US is ever eclipsed we will want to have created a world where tyrany and terror have been beaten back as much as possible. I don't think discussing the possibility that the US may one day not be the dominant power in the world is the same as wishing we become weaker.

Maybe we (USA) should be "not so well off" We should all give our paychecks and sell our houses, cars, etc. and send the money to United Nations to divvy up with France,Germany, Iran, Syria,Africa, etc.!!

This is nothing new. Sidney Blumenthal did a long editorial about Clinton's agenda, at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Blumenthal defined Clinton's agenda as that of the Third Way, the most recent incarnation of the New World Order. He said that Clinton's view of the world order was a flat plane with US on an equal par with all other country's of the world, united under a single taxing authority which have the power to tax global companies, which in turn would also have to take some sense of social responsibility. The difference between Clinton's view of the NWO and Bush I was that Bush saw the NWO as a pyramid with the US at the top, lending a hand up to countries at the bottom.
