Exactly, Trent Lott, Orin Hatch, Damato, Lugar, Specter, McConnell. They become too comfortable with their miserable "positions" and therefore are corrupted against taking risks--such as making a real trial out of the impeachment and showing the Democrats up for what they are ===when/if they voted agianst conviction. No, the Republican senators did not have the nerve.

Bingo. It was shortly after their complicity in the cover up of "high crimes and misdomeanors" that I left the GOP after 32 years of membership, volunteer work, and contributions. Today I vote GOP, but as a voter whose voter registration card reflects "Party of Choice --- NONE!!!".

Dumping Lott was a good start at getting me to rethink my desire to belong to the "party" again, but they still have a long way to go.
