"The animated carp commanded Rosen to pray and study the Torah. Rosen tried to kill the fish but injured himself. It was finally butchered by Nivelo and sold."
I find it strange that anyone would try to kill something they thought was God. Not a good move business-wise either. What would a hebrew speaking carp be worth on the lecture circuit??
The fish monger bets everyone his fish will sing for Rosh Hashannah. But when he gets there the fish doesn't sing. He says to the fish "you cost me a lot of money!" The fish replies, "just think of the odds for Yom Kippur"
