The fish monger bets everyone his fish will sing for Rosh Hashannah. But when he gets there the fish doesn't sing. He says to the fish "you cost me a lot of money!" The fish replies, "just think of the odds for Yom Kippur"

My mother called me this AM, and read me the NY Times piece on this story, and we were laughing so hard. The NYT article has a more humorous take on it, and I'll post it here, just for halibut... ;)
Skeptics can carp, but a New York fish is the talk of the town
Personally I think it all might be a Purim prank...:)

Look at the pope's miter(hat). The shape of it is in the shape of an open mouth carp. Anyway, I bet JESUS never wore such a symbol on his head. Jesus was who he was, truth light, and love; he didn't need a clowns fish hat to impress me. What he did for me was enough..........
