"You are playing with fire," he warned.

We don't PLAY with fire.

Just watch our smoke.

Hey Yamami....you terrorists [in Saudi Arabia] may not be next in line, but you're definitely on the list.

Oil is the major objective for the United States in seeking to occupy Iraq,

AS WELL IT SHOULD BE.

Keeping oil profits out of the hands of terrorists should be our number one priority.

"Oil is the major objective for the United States in seeking to occupy Iraq, according to the former Saudi Arabian Petroleum Minister Sheikh Kaki Yamani."

No, he got this wrong. Oil is the major objective for France and Germany in NOT supporting the U.S. attacking Iraq.

9/11 changed everything. We were willing to leave the oil in the hands of fanatics and profiteers as long as they refrained from killing us. Those days are over.

Saudi Arabia is next on the list.

Whenever I hear one of these Saudis throw down a doomsday warning like this, I know we're tracking, on course, on glide path.

Yes, this war is all about oil...as far as the Saudis are concerned.

Saudi Arabia has opposed, and maneuvered in an attempt to prevent, several American initiatives to reduce our need for imported oil. They're happy to see the Alaskan coast kept closed to oil exploration and particularly unhappy whenever we add to the national Strategic Oil Reserve. Now why do you suppose that might be?

If there's a country anywhere in the world whose self-interest is indissolubly attached to the maintenance of America's current degree of dependence on imported oil, it's Saudi Arabia. The thought that it might all soon come to an end must terrify the Saudi royal family right out of their burnooses.
