While I have my doubts that this will be news in 3 days,

It may not be in the news in 3 days, but just wait until their next US concert (May 1, South Carolina) and their next TX concert. Note the venom which has been unleashed on these girls, for saying something far tamer than Sean Penn's Iraqi address, Sheryl Crow's speeches, Susan Sarandon's rallies, etc. Few care what those nut-ball liberals think... but Southern/country culture does not deal well with those who do not show pride, respect, and love for America, and they thought the Vichy Chix were on the right side of the equation. Southern culture also doesn't deal well with those who aid their enemy.

Texans telling Euro-snots that they are ashamed of Texas?!? They might as well have spit on the Dallas Cowboys mid-field star. It will NOT be forgiven or forgotten. Their superstar status in Texas, their home state, is over.

That's right. It should be a crime to insult our fearless leader. We should start putting up more posters and murals and statues of GWB. Oh, wait... that's been done already. What country was that in?????

What provoked such a frantic reaction? Are you a liberal who just can't stand to see conservatives who won't bow to your liberal icons? Are you a diehard fan of these bimbos who refuses to quit listening? No one is suggesting passing a law against criticizing the president. However, entertainers who make themselves our enemies should not be surprised when we refuse to listen to their songs and ask radio stations to stop playing them. Our refusal to support these idiots is as much a part of our freedom as Americans as their right to make idiotic statements is.

A new kind of Freep? I’ve been over at Amazon and Barnes and Noble this morning writing one-star reviews on all Monkey Chicks CDs. Below is what I’ve been putting in. Takes a couple of days to show up, but it’s a slow morning. Worked well for Al Gore’s recent published masterpieces. Really upsets the natives. Have fun!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dixie “pork rind” Chicks are not Country Artists The Dixie Chicks and especially lead singer Natalie Maines are not country music artists. They are shallow anti-American trained monkeys. I'm throwing this CD and all other pork rind music in the trash can today. I will never purchase another CD from these fat low talent loudmouths again.

I'll be quite surprised, if all your Vichy Chicks reviews are posted by Amazon. What most folks who visit the Amazon site don't know, is that the reviews and rankings are rigged. The folks who run the reviews are a bunch of apparatchiks, who post reviews by favored reviewers the next day (or reviewers from favored groups), while sitting on the reviews of people whose politics they don't like for a week or more, never posting them, or eventually posting them, and later purging them without warning, or giving some phony excuse (like you violated some non-existent rule).

They do publish some right-of-center reviews, but they are from famous, well-connected neocons like Newt Gingrich and Daniel Pipes.

I know all this, because I submitted a few dozen reviews to amazon, back in 2000. At first, they liked them, and even gave me a prize, with a $50 gift certificate, for a positive book review, with no pc implications. But then I started shooting up the charts, writing reviews that either skewered pc works like the movie American Beauty, or supported "incorrect" works. The apparatchiks would not tolerate that, and so they silenced me. (You can get away with the occasional un-pc review, as long as you pose no threat to move up to, or near the top of the rankings.)

That's how cowardly the pc apparat is; its guardians can't stand to permit dissent, even on a lousy review board. (I don't know how things are at B&N.) And so, my hunch is that, while Amazon might post a couple of token anti-Chick reviews, it will censor over 90% of them.

That is the most-ironic anti-American sign I've seen yet. Not only are the Islamists offended, but Toys-R-Us executives are lining up their lawyers to ban that sign </sarcasm?>

And yet another ironic anti-American sign, considering that she wouldn't be able to read books under the Islamists.

These "stars" need to understand that we buy their work, just as anyone we seek for what we want. Like mechanics for our car or exterminators etc. We want from them what we want and don't give a flip about what they think. If we did, we'd ask them.

Yes, we have the right to our opinion, as Americans. We have the people who won that for us with their lives to thank. Most likely, she's not sorry for her statement, the other women in the group probably told her she didn't have the right to flush their career down the toilet.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot... Stick a fork in 'em, they're done.

The message board is certainly accepting new messages but I cannot register to post. I am getting a message stating they are upgrading their system when I try to register. Will someone send me via private mail your user ID and password so I can post on their message board? I promise I will be nice. Thanks in advance.

I had heard that the lead singer of the Dixie Chickens had made a public apology at President Bush. She claimed that she had respect for him! Personally, I think she did that to save herself from losing fans.

"Stick a fork in 'em, they're done."

That's my guess, too -- at least, among the country music fans. But there is an amazing amount of money at stake here and not just for these three bimbos. I expect to see major efforts made to repair the damage, even if the DCs have to be re-invented in another musical genre.

I haven't been able to find out if this was just Natilie's views alone or are the other two in agreement. They have been mum about it. Haven't heard a peep out of them.

I was watching Jay Leno this week and he did "Jay" walking. He went out on the street and asked these kid (teenagers)who were protesting the war, WHY and WHAT are they protesting. They gave their little spiel on how war is bad, yada, yada, yada...in the end he asked them if they knew who the president of Iraq was...they didn't know. They had NO CLUE!!!!! They protest because it's the "hip" thing to do.

I heard on a local talk radio show last weekend from a (conservative) teacher here in CA. He said a protest march was organized by another teacher in his school. The kids had a choice--join the march, or stay in a classroom monitored by another teacher (study hall). Of course every kid in his class decided to take the day off and go downtown and "protest". The next day he asked them why they were protesting. Most said they just wanted to get out and have some fun. Then he asked how many of them supported Bush on Iraq and almost half raised their hands.

Thank you...I was able to post the following via my old long forgotten Yahoo ID:

"I used to be a big fan of the music from the Vichy Chicks, but it's no problem. The CD was burned at a local country music bar last night here in Sarasota, FL along with about 35 others. And we are getting their music removed from every play list we can find. So run your fat anti-American mouths. You do not slam the Commander-In-Chief while we are at or about to go to war. You of course can, because it is a free country, but remember your freedom to do that while we save the tortured and beaten innocents of Iraq and the body bags start coming home. Your career is over. Perhaps now you can start a rap career and hang out with the rest of the America haters."
