I do not know if it was more or less insidious than hypocrisy by the Hollywood Ho's. The truth be known, anyone who heard Clinton utter those words back in 98 knew that they were words which would not be supported with real deeds. Clinton was far more interested in blow jobs and diverting attention from his political mess than really taking a principled stand vis a vis U. S. security interests - maybe lob a couple of cruise missles, maybe release the attack dogs on some of the domestic political enemies but surely not take a real stand against U.S. military and security enemies.
