"So what you are saying is if this activity persists AFTER the war starts, THEN it's treason?"
Only if it can be proven, with witnesses, that the calls to overthrow the government were actually done in concert with efforts of an external enemy ( In other words, say folks from ANSWER were found to be consorting with members of Iraqi intelligence when hostilities begin, and it is proven. Then a case could be made for treason.) then it is treason.
Otherwise, it would be sedition. Treason gets bandied about somewhat lightly. This is a very serious matter. While one's actions might be termed traitorous ( ala Clinton and the tech transfers to China ), treason in the U.S. requires a very high bar to be convicted. Even the Rosenbergs were not convicted on treason, but on 'conspiracy to commit espionage'.

I suspect that it would be the blue helmet army and their human shields surrounded by the combined might of the US, UK, Spain, and the bulk of the Iraqi army and populace.

True enough. But I supposed that we would send the Iraqis on holiday. After serving for the madman, I thought they'd need the break.
