As part of the final preparations, the United States is hastily building a desert airstrip in the United Arab Emirates to base more than 100 fighter planes that Turkey won't allow on its soil. Heard that Tommy Franks was in the UAE. Wonder is this was a coincidence? : - )
The Turks will pay greatly for their treachery. They had said all along that we could use their airbases, regardless. We may have needed the tanks for a margin of victory, but they were by no means vital to the overall victory.
Look to the post war collapse of Turkey.

Look buster! Our constitution requires that ANY PERMISSION TO USE OUR AIRSPACE HAS TO BE GIVEN BY OUR PARLIAMENT.
Turkey has not refused access to her airspace. THAT REQUEST ONLY CAME DAYS AGO when the government was in process of changing due to elections last Sunday.
You poor slobs are at the mercy of your press. On one hand you slam CNN for not being conservative enough, on the other hand you use their stories to slam me! Make up your
@^%$#@& minds!!

"The Turks will pay greatly for their treachery."
Can someone please remind me why we officially support an independent state of Palestine but not an independent state of Kurdistan?
And, while we are at it, can someone please explain why the completely arbitrary boundaries of Iraq, drawn up by Britain eight decades ago, are immutable in the face of subsequent regional instability and genocide?

Not a pleasant thought--Turkey could well loose its secular government and become another islamist state if it implodes.
