Since the intial report, the FBI has returned the package and I believe opened an OIG investigation.
Interestingly, while customs and the FBI seem to be quite competent at obstructing investigations, they don't seem to be so good at actually stopping traffic in dangerous materials, as seen in this stories below, written, ironically enough, by John Solomon...
