MSNBC still insisting that the Azores trip is all about language for the resolution that the 6 countries can accept. Pres wants to be seen "taking one last step for peace". Now reporting that Bush will address the nation Monday night too.

This speech was intended to tell the Saudis, the Jordanians, and Mubarak that we'd be in for the long haul diplomatically. This gives us a free hand diplomatically in Iraq. Yes, it was far more important for the symbolism than the substance. He didn't say anything that Condi or Colin couldn't have said on a Sunday talk show without much fanfare.
But it tells the world that Bush has more on his plate than just Iraq, and that we're not getting ready to launch a war against Islam.
