I miss Patsy terribly, too. A voice that can never be duplicated.

I tried to go to the official Dixie Chicks WEBSITE but couldn't get in. I guess their site must be overloaded today.

They really don't get it.

They really don't. The only reason anybody listens to what I have to say is because I say it in a way they want to listen to, or they're my friends and polite. But Natalie Maines has a platform that is much bigger than mine. Why? Because she is an elected representative? Because she is a prize-winning political scientist? Because she is an expert at anything? No! It's because people buy her records. Her fans gave her that platform. That means that her fans can take that platform away anytime they like for any reason - because her music starts to suck, because she gets too ugly, because she wears the wrong socks, or because of her political opinions. The same goes for Martin Sheen or Susan Sarandon or anybody else.

Just because she could once sell out concerts does not mean she has a constitutional right to that microphone.

Shalom.

Have You Forgotten
Darryl Worley
Written by Darryl Worley and Wynn Varble

I hear people saying we don't need this war
I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground?
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start preaching
Let me ask you this my friend

CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me
It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it every day
Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right

CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

I've been there with the soldiers
Who've gone away to war
And you can bet they remember
Just what they're fighting for

CHORUS 2
Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost
And those left to carry on
And we vowed to get the ones behind Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?

They're coming to KC in May for a concert. How about a freep opportunity?

Great idea! I'd come. I've always hated the Dixie Chicks anyway.

The local Kansas City station 94.1 just decided to put the Blixie Chicks back on the air.

Here is my response to their program manager.

To: dalec@kfkf.com

I have to respond to your decision to put the Dixie Chicks back on the air.

Yes we do have free speech in this country. However the statement was not made in this country and it was made in a manner to harm the leader of our country.

I have given four years of my life to the service of our country and my oath to the constitution is as valid today as it was when I took it.

Since you have made your decision to put them back on the air, I am making my decision to remove your station from my radio.

No longer a listner.

Anyone know of another good country station in the Kansas City area?

Semper Fi

You are welcome to jump on the bandwagon... however, even if you don't we are going in without you.

You forgot to add ... "You're either with us, or you're with the liberal whackos."

Shalom.

Can they replace members like Menudo?

Perhaps, but in Menudo's case the members were replaced because of age. In the case of the Dixie Chicks, they will have to replace Maines on the grounds of Fat & Stupid.

I will agree with you if you add the line that follows:

Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right

I have not forgotten.

You are either with us or you are with the terrorists. - George W. Bush

We will make no distinction between terrorists and the nations that harbor them. - George W. Bush

Or the stupid stars who can't find their a$$es with both hands. - ArGee (with apologies to George W. Bush)

Shalom.

"I believe we have just awoken the Sleeping Giant"--Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto

I think this historic quote is most appropriate for the Dixie Sluts. They will learn soon not to defecate on grassroots, flag-waving America. That is their 'fan base', the most PATRIOTIC segment of the entire Republic, the "My Country Right or Wrong" sub-group of countless millions of Americans,

and these women have just slapped them right in the face!

What imbeciles.

Fat Natalie purported to speak on behalf of all of them, using the word "we." If any one or both of the others disagreed, they should have distanced themselves from Natalie's statement quickly and just as publically. That they are sitting quiet suggests she was speaking for all three.

Thay can still disavow her statement. The clock's ticking.

I take it that Natalie thinks Saddam is a grand old guy who means noone harm. She's probably a fan of King George, and I bet Natalie would have been opposed to the American Revolution. It might have helped her get a little better reception in merry ole England. I bet she would've denounced George Washington for being a warmongerer. What an idiot! No more Natalie in our house.

Yeah, and maybe they can criticize the President while they're in K.C. (we would probably at war.)

I wonder just how many K.C. fans will show up for the concert. Would the news media actually point out that the sold out show was attended by 25% of the "faithful."

And dig this (from BBC, London, website) (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/country/reviews/rev_keith.shtml):

"Although (pro-USA singer Toby) Keith says that "Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue (The Angry American)" was written as a tribute to his father - who lost an eye fighting for his country and was killed in a car crash last March - some people think he is expressing his thoughts on the complexities of American foreign policy. It's easy to see why, with lyrics like "This big dog will fight/ When you rattle his cage/ And you`ll be sorry that you messed with/ The U.S. of A./`Cause we`ll put a boot in your ass/ It`s the American way". Keith was cancelled from a 4th July television show on the strength of the song's lyrics and more recently Dixie Chick Natalie Maines said, "It's ignorant, and it makes country music sound ignorant." But the album went straight to number one in the American album chart so he must be striking a chord with someone.

Tour starts in May? By then, Iraq will be ours, and the b*tch's blunder will be an ancient memory, especially if she's been replaced by a looker.

Nicks' version on 'The Dance' CD was incredible. I have the Fleetwood Mac video for that concert, and seeing her sing with just Lindsay Buckingham playing guitar was incredible. You could see that Stevie's singing really moved him.

I also 'heard' that Stevie has not been happy with Sheryl Crow's public anit-war sentiments. Stevie and Sheryl are best friends. And of course, Maines is a good friend of Sheryl's.
