Police reiterated their description of their suspect: A white man, 30 to 40 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, medium build, with dark hair and hair on his arms and back of his hands. He was wearing tan pants, a Polo brand shirt, dark shoes, a lighter jacket and an "English-style" driving hat. He held a small, dark handgun. "He spoke nicely and dressed nicely" I guess his robes were at the dry cleaner's. Doesn't sound like Mitchell to me. Wouldn't MK have noticed a big bushy beard, if she could notice hair on the back of his hands?

Newsflash: Beards aren't permanent fixtures -- they grow and can be shaved off. The fact that he has a beard now tells us nothing about whether he had one on the night of June 5, 2002.

I'm hearing conflicting stories on whether or not Mitchell was clean shaven when he took Elizabeth. Some media reports say that he was clean shaven when Mrs Smart hired him to work at the house, other reports say he wasn't. I really can't wait for the trial to clear up a lot of the confusion.
