How many women stay in abusive relationships? Husbands beat them and abuse them and often times even their children. Yet, the wife often times won't press charges and remains in the marriage. How many children are molested by strangers, family and friends and never tell a soul? What happens to someone's mind when they are raped, kidnapped and isolated for months?
Elizabeth was an innocent. I am sure she felt guilty after a while for having "given in" to their demands. She did what she thought she had to do to survive.

I know ---but I would hope my own kids would try to escape as soon as they had an opportunity ---it's very sad that this little girl stayed instead of escaping. There are stories of other kids who did escape ---even when there was risk to them by getting away. I'd rather my kids be like the latter rather than this girl who stayed even when she could have left.
