Yesterday, when I went to Costco with my son, I heard the good news. By the time of checking out, the news had spread throughout the store like wildfire. All of us were very happy, given that in most of these cases the child doesn't survive even a day. I hurried home to see what the 'Freepers' would have to say.
But this morning, just seeing those photographs rang alarm bells. I had this intuitive feeling that Elizabeth had matured immensely during her 'captivity'. I did the facial comparisons on this PowerLeap upgraded Gateway using several Photo Editing packages including the marvelous freeware Irfanview. The physiological changes were there!
Now, 'cult' is the root of the word 'culture', and my son and I have had several spirited discussions about the 'American Cult' since the decision outlawing the Pledge of Allegence here in the West.
And, yes, in Colorado City, Arizona, we have a 'cult' or 'culture' of polygamy. And, no, the State leaves it alone. The last governor to try lost his political career.
Needles to say, people's real feelings are somewhat more complex than the politically correct resposnses they give to direct questions on the matter.
