I keep reading you guys saying to each other "you must do this or you won't get anything," and it finally dawned on me that y'all must be talking about what it takes to get premarital sex in a non-committed relationship?
Like, "you must power trip the bitch into thinking you are a bull moose stud so she will spread her legs" type of thing?
Because nothing you are saying seems to have anything to do with real women or real relationships.

Why do women reject the nice guys, date the jerks, and then complain about how the jerks treat them? Perhaps size matters after all? Who knows?
To: homeschool mama
Really. We have guys on campus sneaking into girl's dorms and taking pictures of them in the shower. Then they post the pics on the internet.

re: Bice was charged under a little-known law that makes it a felony to videotape or photograph someone without consent if the images are intended for arousal or sexual gratification.)))
Interesting law. Note that it doesn't require nudity or other compromising circumstances...makes me think of the usual Ann Coulter threads--watch out, guys, that pic of Ann on her deck with the rifle might land you in jail...
to you, grundle, who complains of not being able to get lucky...are you sure you're not seeking out chicks only for their looks? Not that pretty isn't a good thing, but usually when I hear a guy complaining of not being able to find a date, the next line I hear is a desrisive snort because some gal walks by who's a whole ten pounds heavier than she ought to be, and won't get a smile from the fella...
I found my fella young, and never dated jerks. But I do read the personal ads here and there for entertainment, and looks are clearly the BIG issue for "SM seeking SF".

It sounded like he showed it on video tape. It isn't really important if he has/had a digital copy or not. What's important is whether he posted it to the Internet or not. If he had, I think she'd know about it. Then again, maybe she wouldn't -- yet.

Once a picture goes out on the Internet, forget ever getting rid of it. It will sit around on hundreds, if not tousands, of hard drives, only to be posted again sometime down the line when it suits someone. Bad stuff.

Your story sounds familiar. I raised my son to be a "nice guy" too. He is sweet, respectful and caring and it took a long time for him to find the right girl. Everyone wanted to just be friends. The only two relationships that endured any amount of time were with young women that were about 3 years older than he. They had been thru enough of the dating crap that they appreciated someone like him. He's getting married in two weeks to the second of these girls.
To: cherry
look at what men are craving and supporting in our society and you don't think young women note this and try to emulate???? The key problem, though, is emulating men doesn't give women what they want or need while it gives men everything they want or need. As the old saying goes, "Why pay for the cow if the milk is free?" Men aren't getting hurt by this, which is why you shouldn't look to men to fix the problem.
Take a look at the information here to get an idea of how bad it can get.

Nice guys can win, they just have to adjust their thinking a bit.
First, you have to realize that you will never be able to "out-think" a woman in terms of relationships. They are geared towards emotional thinking and we are not.
So how do you "win"? By keeping them off-balance mentally. Do unexpected things: concede an arguement you normally wouldn't, forgo contact when they would expect it, call when you normally wouldn't, etc. What this does is give them something to "think" about. The more you are in a woman's mind, and the less she can figure you out, the better.
Second, in keeping with the first issue, be aggressive. I don't mean act like a jerk or disregard their opinions, but step up to the plate and be a man. If you are a "nice guy", this will throw them for a loop. Yes, their brother might always be there for them, but their brother doesn't arrange a romantic dinner and carriage ride. So, "you're like a brother to me" doesn't enter their mind or leave their lips.
Here are some simple guidelines to remember:
1) Every minute you don't ask, she is saying "no". You must take the risk to gain the reward; if you fail you lose nothing, so why be afraid to try?
2) Never make her make decisions concerning what you do. This does not mean trampling her opinions, but a woman responds better to "How about we grab some chinese Friday night and then hit the movies?" than to "Do you want to do something Friday night?"
If she has something already planned for Friday, she will be more likely to offer a counter proposal than an outright rejection to the first offer.
3) Never assume she is a whore. Too many "nice guys" wait for the "sign" before initiating any sort of romantic gesture, like a simple kiss. Most women who are worth persuing will want the man to make the "first move" and won't give the "sign". Sometimes this means getting your face slapped, but getting a second date instead of a nice handshake at the door and her calling her friends to ask why you didn't even try to give her a good night kiss.
Anyway, just some advice from someone who has made the voyage from "nice guy".
To: grundle
First, we don't know how this guy acted to get the girl to have sex with him. He could have been all candle lights, romance, for all we know. He could have kept his "jerkiness" hidden. Still, she shouldn't have rushed into having sex with him. I don't know when you were in college, but when I was in college, 1988-1992, if girls didn't sleep with a guy she was dating, she didn't hear from them again. I don't know where they were, but my friends and I didn't meet any "nice" guys until after we graduated.

and showed the footage to his fraternity brothers That is all you need in many cases to get women. I knew several gangly, homely, and outright dumb@sses in college that had a new woman every few weeks. In college, remember most thing are liberal. It is a liberal trait to belong to a group, not to be an individual. It is what group you belong to (greek groups, sport teams), not the person you are.
On a similar note, I also knew several girls (not women or ladies), that would only go out with guys in a specific frat. It really doesn't matter who you are. Of course money helps too.

How about this one? What are we to make of this guy?
I feel like I am reading something written by a person from a different planet.
As the mother of two teenaged boys, is this what men are coming to these days? Or is this the way they've always been, only I just found out about it?
My guess is that this is computer geek-think, from someone who doesn't really understand how real human beings operate, but it seems awfully prevalent on this thread.

The article in
this thread may also be relevent to what is being discussed here.

I wish I was surprised by the prevailing attitude on this thread, but sadly, I am not.

>>You've taken something that should be precious between a couple and made a cheap thing, and made it an ugly thing<<
So now the law in Texas defines the meaning of the old in-out, in-out?
To: grundle
I used to be you--for the first couple of years of college....
Then I became the complete bastard that women love--lots of time in the gym; acting more self-centered; more aloof, more of a 'short fuse'; treating women as objects; risk-taking and general caddish behavior...
Not only have I had a helluva a lot more fun, but I have never again lacked for female companionship and am now married to a gal who chased me down instead of vice-versa.
Get out there and start being a cad! You'll not regret it.
To: xrp
"Because women are pretty much idiots. You've seen them drive, right?"
"Women are females that are not ladies"
"Once they say thank you, they make the transition from woman to lady"
Boy, thank God for real men.
