SHARPTON: So much Buzzing Going On..

[New York Civil Rights Activist] Reverand Al Sharpton is privately accusing Democratic National Committee Chair Terry McAuliffe of pushing Ex-Illinois Senator Carol Moseley Braun to ender the 2004 Democratic Field.

Noting Shapton's rising black support McAuliffe and other establishment Democrats are concerned he will disort the contest for the Democratic 2004 Presidental nod.

Whether or not they promoted Braun's unexpected announcement of candidacy, they certainly welcomed it.

District of Columbia whispers that the Reverand Jesse Jackson 'encouraged Braun to run' appear to have no foundation. (Novak, Chicago Sun Times)

What an interesting choice of words. You would think the democrats would welcome the diversity that Mr. Sharpton would bring to the debates. Maybe the distortion would be to draw notice towards the fact that the democrats like their leaders to be white.

'Disort' is a non-racist Democrat way of telling Sharpton to go away (and it will prbably make him madder..)

The man speaks the truth! (about this)

If he gets enough of a good showing to be allowed in the debates, it would be a dream come true, he'll take 20%! I only wish I lived in Iowa or Vermont and I could switch to vote in the Democratic primary and proudly cast my vote for this Death Nail.

Rev Al for Democratic nomination! Rev Al for the Democratic nomintation!

This is, unfortunately, an astute move by the Democrats. They realize that if the results of the early voting go 15%, 12%, 10%, 7% and also rans, the media will imbue the one who got 15% with some kind of mandate. If that person is Al Slim-Shady Sharpton, they are toast in 2004 and beyond.

But with Carol Mostly-Fraud in the "race", it will be the 12% candidate who gets to have the national mandate, because the black vote will be split.

Of course, this is a breathtakingly cynical and racist move on their part. Just one more way to keep the blacks "on the plantation". If any FReepers had any qualms about registering Democrat and throwing the lever for Big Al in the early primaries, this should give you a clear conscience to do so.

Al will get a speaking slot at the convention, or else he might run in the general campaign as an Independent.

The Democratic Party wants nothing to do with him (at least in people talking away from his face)

Hell yeah EVERYONE should switch to Democratic to vote in the primary, if they live in any earlier primary states.

My Dad has always been a registered Democrate to vote "for the weakest candidate" I never understood the wisdom in that, until this case. The % of his vote, even when he loses, will embolden him to run as an independent or at least force the rest to allow this "Rev" to define the primary's agenda.

Oh man...if Big Al ran as an Independent.....the Dems would really be doomed. Bush would take 45 to 48 states in the next election if Al ran as an Indy out of protest.

Miguel Estrada and Al Sharpton are going to hang the Demmies for 2004

Hey, you can't expect your enemy to shoot himself in the foot every single time. Sometimes you have to do it for him.

Now put on your Birkenstocks and tie-dye and go down to your Post Office and register Democrat. Do it now, so you don't forget. Then when they hand you the Democratic ballot next year, you will suddenly remember why...

I feel as giddy as a school girl as the good Rev smites those daring to take away his rightful place in these Democratic primamries.

The more the Dem leadership tries to keep Al down, the higher Al rises!

Sing it loud, sing it proud! Run Al Run!

I'm ready to vote for Sharpton.

As a matter of fact, I helped sabotage Janet Reno's candidacy during Florida governor primary elections, since I voted for her opponent, McBride. Of course, Jeb mopped the floor with that twit.
