From what I remember of my Persian Gulf War 1 history, one of the biggest problem the US military had was logistics when it came to handling the huge amounts of surrendering Iraqi's.
I am sure we have already setup camps for the next wars POW's. They could have let these guys get in first and call a good bunk before the rest. I mean, our soldiers are basically sitting on their thumbs right now anyway.
If this story is true, then the administration missed a chance to show true compassion. They could have at least thrown them a bologna sandwich and a pair of combat boots before they told them to go home.

Except they didn't surrender to us, they surrendered to the Brits and I'm sure that took the Brits totally offguard.
Still, I think these guys are being taken care of and are being kept in sight to make sure they aren't harmed while they wait for the opening bell. Like I said, I'm sure they will find food and water each day when they wake up and will be located under the watchful eye of the Brits.
