Freepers attended pro-USA rallies in Manchester(CT), Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Ventura, DC, Omaha, Brea (CA), L.A., Brunswick (ME), Milledgeville (GA), TACOMA and counting - this weekend!

Thank you! America looks far different through the eyes of those who love and understand what makes America great.

Here's to FR reality vs. increasingly irrelevant mainstream press spin.

Ragtime Cowgirl, you can add Silverdale, WA to your list (at least I am told it was going to be held), same locale as the one I reported on two weeks ago. Perhaps bigfootbob can confirm...?

It's really interesting to look at the difference in presentation between my report (same link as in article) and "their" report (the local media). Though to be fair, the wife rported that on the last-night news last night they panned the overpass, much like my initial photo.

At last, Washingtonians have become brave enough to support our troops and our President. Last Saturdays "Support Our Troops" rallies in Seattle were a dismal failure, at least from what I saw personally as I passed by one of them. I asked for reports about these two rallies by those who may also have seen them or had been part of these two rallies, but sadly..not replies. Maybe, someday, Seattle will wake up and discover that we are really, really, really out of the mainstream of our country by remaining silent on our support for our troops. KVI sponsored a rally in Bellevue a few weeks ago and it gathered couple hundred supporters for our troops, but nothing close to what other parts of the Nations have been able to do.

Webber, I don't think it's all a matter of bravery -- and I say that noting that some of the passersby support received by the "Million" American March through Seattle a week earlier was in fact delivered furtively.

We're not much accustomed to conservative public activism here in this state that has long been dominated by the Left and the RINOs, though we've had a few notable successes such as the John Carlson/Kirby Wilbur organized (or at least advertised) protest of Hillary's visit way back when.

But I think (I certainly hope!) these rallies are having an effect on Puget Sound conservatives. First, they're fun -- you can express yourself without being made to feel like you're some kind of isolated screwball. Second, you learn you're not alone in your thinking -- even in the heart of the enemy. Third, you start meeting other conservatives, making friendships, connections. Go to one, you're much more likely to start attending others.

To compare the events here & now to events elsewhere, such as the huge rally in Texas, is not to make a fair comparison. It's a thin, acid soil that conservatives here find themselves planted in. But we're changing that, slowly. That we had five (5) rallies at the same time in the same area a week ago hurt in some senses, but it may help in others.

We're only getting started on an uphill battle. Please don't fault us for not yet having crossed the finish line.

And why isn't WA set for your locale...? Were you just visiting?

Hey there Eala. Yes, I did make it. Obviously you did too! Great pics!!! I didnt have time over the weekend to get mine developed! Hubby was quite upset this weekend. The waiting is driving them crazy! Hopefully I will get them on soon! I didnt see anyone with freerepublic on their signs. I had my sign and flag but left them in the car to photograph the event. Seems I cannot carry two things and photograph at the same time. Darnit! BUT I was there. I was in the big red pullover sweatshirt with my hat on backwards taking pictures. Ya couldnt miss me! I looked like a boy! :P

I'm glad you made it! I looked for signs with FreeRepublic too and only saw Libertina's. I had my hands full between umbrella and digital camera (I have no hood for the mavica's lens), so I couldn't carry a sign or flag either. And LibreOuMort had a flag, no sign.

But I guess I missed you anyhow...

LibreOuMort (who is very quiet on this site) was there. She was on the northeast side of the overpass, a short heavyset woman in a navy coat, waving a flag with an eagle at the top of the pole.

My photos had only one woman in a red sweatshirt, but she was waving a sign and the little girl who held the flag in her mouth while she warmed up her hands was with her.

Hmmmm strange we didnt bump into each other. Even stranger yet I was wearing a bright red sweatshirt and a bright red hat. We took some photographs in the same spots!! :) Well I can tell you this, at the next rally, look for the crazy woman taking pictures in a Army suit with a gold pin on the right side of the jacket that says HOOAH! That would be me!
