yes we are very concerned bout the security council.. after this bullshit last six months... I don't think there will be anything but one veto after another from Britain, the USA and Spain...
Sec Council is dead.
Furthermore... we will STAYin just to veto their crap... while NOT paying our dues... like the rest of the third world nations don't... russia, south africa and angola...

So true!

Violating the United Nations Charter? Golly, I hope they don't punish us as harshly as they have Iraq.

They would be sweet - the security council seeks to pass a resolution rebuking the USA - and the USA vetoes it. I'd giggle for weeks.

I'm beginning to wonder if maybe Germany, France and Russia aren't secretly planning to attack the U.S. when we free the Iraqi people. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why these countries are so dead set against stopping terrorist aggression. There's more going on here than meets the eye, I fear.

I hope the whole thing is quick and clean, the people of Iraq are demanding of the world "What the heck took you so long?" and we find all kinds of nasty stuff in underground bunkers.........that would be sooooo sweeet

BWAHAHAHAHAHA
What the US is supposed to be afraid of the Security Council now after dicking around with Saddam for 11 years?
Powell should bitch slap the ambassadors of Russia, France & Germany and make them like it.

Sorry, Igor. We've already got the necessary mandate. It's called UN Resolution 1441.
To: luv2ndamend
The Commies, er, Russians and their friends the Germans and the French may give us some grief in the UN but they in turn will lose billions in canceled contracts from Iraq after it attains freedom.

I wonder if everyone would feel more comfortable with the USA if we began to disarm? Surely we could find 10 or 12 old missiles to destroy before we go in and demolish the place.

It's not unilateral. It's multilateral with dozens of nations supporting and participating. Russia, France and Germany are partakers of Saddam's cup of mass murder. They are the parties in breach of world norms.

This is just proof that Cheney and Rummy were correct in saying that going with the UN was a trap. I hope that Powell has learned a lesson from this.

Yeah, I fear a "Pristina" airport scenario also. But I think we won't back down this time, and there's no way the Russians can get any significant assets into the country unless the go overland through Iran.
And after they saw how our weaponry chews through Russian armor, I don't think they'll be too enthusiastic.
