MSNBC just had a short clip about the Iraqi drone that the London Times wrote about. It seems that...
the copy of the classified UN document that Powell was reading from when he gave his SC talk did not include the pages referring to the chemical spraying drone that the UN had recently discovered.
Blix said the copy Powell had was only a draft.
Yeah right. Both the draft and Blix's speech overlooked one of the most significant discoveries by the inspectors. Iraq has an previously unknow program to develop chemical srpaying drones.
As far as I am concerned Blix should quit now. He stacked the deck at a critical time.

MSNBC seemed to have a copy of the UN report, or at least access to it.
I bet it will be interesting reading. Putting it on the web for discussion might just finish the UN off.

Sure would be encouraging, but I really do think that the General will polish his stars. He's not used to getting jacked around like this and, speaking of Jack, both the Union Jack and Jack Straw upstagged him at the UN...IMO

I wish the good people of New York would deny these vile creatures of the UN services. To think Blix and others are living it up in New York. Blix go home.

Without our dues, they might think about moving the UN to its natural home--France.

The time has longed passed for inspections and additional opportunities for Saddam to hide the truth.
It's time that Saddam has been made to pay the price for his ruthless and murderous behavior.
It's time for Saddam to be taken out.

One theory is that Kofi Annan doesn't want war and is chummy with France, et al, and purposely chose Hans Blix because he knew he'd come down on Kofi's side. I read a while back that Blix was 15th on the list of chief inspectors, and pretty sure it was Russia and France who insisted on him as the choice. He wasn't our choice naturally. I think we wanted Ikeas (sp?), who is reputedly much tougher.
Remember that our UN dues pay the salaries of Annan and Blix.
Oh, I know, I know. Burns me up that we pay one red cent towards the maintenance of these pampered fools who infest our shores.

the media will give this story token attention. they are all "abuzz" with the story about the "fradulent" nuclear information. the problem is, that if Bush hasn't figured out yet that to make anything that bolsters his case a "story", he has to get out in front of a microphone himself and do it. he cannot rely on the media.

Thanks for the heads up....I'll watch.

Powell is on Fox in the morning. Word has it that he's going to break out the 5 gold stars and take no names. He's a little peaved to say the least (way want a transfer back to DOD). Sounds like must-see TV.

Now for something completely differant, and I ask you all since a dear friend asked me to ask you,Freepers that is,and I could not give him an answer. The question was,If we can't stop the gangs like the bloods, the crips, the hells angels and the KKK in our country, how are we gonna stop the islamfacist? They are as established as all the other groups, what makes us think we can stop them either?I submit this question for all of Freerepublic to answer and not a bad question from a middle of the road American.

Because they are cowards and none of them want to take responsibility for doing what needs to be done.
Because they are cowards, it's easier to try to appease them and that way they don't have to admit they don't know what to do.
The UN guy from Germany said it all: "I don't have the slightest idea how to wage a war". That's the problem. Thank GOD we have President Bush who is not a coward and who knows how to wage a war.
