I was there with my 3 kids (ages 9, 7, and 4). We had a great time. The news didn't even talk about the overwhelming support from the people driving by. The people honking their horns in support was non-stop. It was hard to hear the speakers over the horns. It's funny my kids get it!!!

That is wonderful you were there today, especially with your kids! Too bad all of us FReepers didn't "hook up"... Maybe next time. You're right... the television coverage I saw so far (Channels 30 and 8) didn't mention a thing about the support from people driving by us.

Thanks for that link to Channel 8 (WTNH-ABC). I just sent them a positive note, thanking them for their honest coverage of the rally. They did do a nice job, even interviewing a veteran from East Hampton, CT who mentioned "We're here to support President Bush and our troops." Plus, you could hear a lot of the honking by people in cars... good thing I taped it - I didn't notice that before.
I don't know if this means much, but I timed Channel 8's and Channel 30's coverages of the rally. Channel 8 gave the rally 34 seconds coverage. I didn't notice if they gave any coverage to any "peace" rallies... I didn't watch the entire newscast.
Channel 30 (WVIT-NBC) called our rally a "pro-war" rally, said 150 people showed up... total coverage: 17 seconds. They proceeded to give 31 seconds to two "pro-peace" events: One sparsely-attended rally on the town green in Milford, CT, and the "Code Pink" rally in Washington, DC.
Fox 61's coverage is coming up at 10. Channel 3's newscast at 6 was shortened due to a basketball game. I'm fairly certain there will be some coverage of our rally on Channel 3 at 11... the reporter spent a fair amount of time there today.

Our local FOX affiliate - Channel 61 (WTIC) just aired coverage our rally today...
kphockey2 - you and your wife were clearly visible in several of their shots! You guys looked great! They focused in on a "We Support President Bush" sign (the one your wife was carrying, right?) and on my sign that said: "Land of the Free - Because of the Brave". I saw a glimpse of
Dutchy also.
Mona - apparently Fox61 cut your statement. :-(
Fox61 spent about 18 seconds reporting on the "Code Pink" rally in DC and about 32 seconds of coverage on our rally. A local woman was interviewed who has a husband and brother-in-law fighting for our country overseas. Pretty good coverage of the rally overall!

Oops, I forgot to mention that Fox61 estimated the crowd at the rally today to be about 300.

BTW, How's that "Counter Clinton LIEbrary" construction coming along? (I'm assuming they haven't broken ground yet.)

I haven't had the pleasure YET to get the info on that LIEBRARY. I'm assuming it is coming along FASTER than the "real" thing. lol! Unless the Clinton butt kissers can get their hands on more illegal money Clinton's trailer/liebrary may never open(which would be more than fine by me).

How many of the Good Guys showed up??

She came up to me and asked me to expand on what I meant about what I saw concerning all the communist groups that were leading the anti-war movement. I started to go into a little more depth in my answer, when she interrupted me with this question, "No, What I want to know is, I don't get it, what is wrong with Communist groups leading peace movements?"Oh my...
Sure, don't commies want peace just like everyone else?
Was Tina blonde?
