I don't want to make the situation worse than it is, and I certainly don't think that Bush has created the situation, even though the Rats will spin it that way but the economy has been going downhill in a way that many don't want to face up to. There are a lot of things wrong and the war is just a part of it. There has been tremendous productivity growth since WWII and yet during the same time we have changed from a country where any high school graduate could earn enough money in his early twenties to get married and support a stay at home wife and children to a country where both husband and wife must work to make ends meet. Something is not right here and I lay the blame to actions taken by our government to overtax and overregulate every facet of life and it only gets worse.

Thank you for saying this. When we point this out, it's disheartening to get flamed as "disloyal Republicans," but this nasty truth IS out there & must be considered. Of course it's not directly President Bush's "fault," and of course we're suffering for 8 years of Clinton degeneracy.

However that may be, we have to deal with the situation we have on the board *now.* It's a wakeup call, I think, to reexamine the whole "global economy" assumption, especially the part about how wonderful it is to have overseas factories and all Americans working in IT and computer engineering. (Excuse me while I hoot with laughter. There, I'm better.)

The Democrats don't deal well with change, but sometimes we don't either.

50% (minimum) of a pay check is taken in taxes. That's 1/2.
If one person were to get a whole paycheck again, only one parent would have to work.
Right now, it takes two paychecks because each one equals only a half a check.
The two parents working now makes a whole check.
