An anti-war march against the U.S. policy on Iraq by about 500 Canoga Park High School students turned ugly Wednesday when some in the crowd started looting a gas station convenience store and disrupting traffic.
A group of students who skipped class to participate in the lunchtime protests stole candy bars and knocked over displays at the Mobil gas station at the corner of Topanga Canyon and Victory boulevards, officials said. Five of them were detained on suspicion of vandalism and theft, said Officer Jason Lee, a police spokesman.

As soon as they find One teacher that let their students out of class the district will be sued . Rightfully so.

This is the second "peace" protest that I seen reports on degenerating into some sort of violence (the other one was in Toronto, I believe, where some "peace" marchers beat the hell out of a pro-US dude). Tsk tsk tsk, don't they realize how insanely stupid they look?

San Fernando High School Principal Jose Luis said a group of adults appeared outside the school at noon, and called for the students to join them, shouting obscenities at administrators. He estimated that only three students left; school officials will study videotape before deciding penalties.
Yep, truants and thier role models on display...

Hmmm... so we're surprised that some of these clowns weren't "the can't we just get along" crowd????

Which came first, the collectivist or the looter? Are they looters because they are collectivists, or are they collectivists because they are looters? Don't worry, though. I'm sure they looted, threatened people and broke things in a peaceful manner.

Does this indicate their identification with the man they're protecting?

Obviously the collectivist, which enabled their sense of mutual ownership to the capitalist pig's property.
But don't worry, after decades of living in true collectivism (and mudering millions of non-believers) they'll happily stand in line for hours for their share of the community bread.

Nothing says peace like knocking over a gas station.

Were these muslim kids? I'll bet they were of color but not muslim. Canoga Park (High)is a barrio now. It wasn't all that great 20, even 30 years ago, but now it's much worse.
To put it bluntly, the area is trashed.

it amazes me that so far at every so called peace rally here has been some sort of trouble, but at all the Pro America/Support the Troops rallies all you see is a well behaved crowd waving flags

Without even seeing what anyone looked like or hearing from any of the students, they're assumed to be "of color" but not muslim? Why not muslim? And why insinuate that? Isn't it enough that they walked out at all? All of the schools around here where I live are pretty much black/hispanic but not one student walked out and there were no peace protests. So what is your motivation for making this a race issue?
