In the long shot, I did not see Helen on the front row or even elsewhere.
Imagine the heavy load Bush is carrying, recognizing that his word to start this war will inevitably result in some deaths of our forces and theirs...he also said he'd been on the phone a lot...and it's no wonder that his voice is subdued. This is no time for bantering, and Bush knows what is appropriate. His gravity, you'll notice, also sets the tone for the reporters' questions as well.
