He's thought it over and it's time to act. He's kicked Helen Thomas to the curve. While this is off-topic, I've been wondering about something... I don't EVER recall a member of the White House press corps making statements like that Monica Lewinski wanna-be, Helen Thomas. Has anybody else ever heard a "journalist" make a statement similar to her, "He's the worst president, ever" statement?

My thoughts exactly. Key is getting the 101st Airborne unloaded and deployed.
Slightly pissed. Some idiot reporter indicated that the Vietnam War was an attempt at "regime change."
Jesus, are these people stupid, or what?

Did you guys notice, that almost every reporter called him "SIR" or "Mr. President" and it wasn't forced????

"No, the folks on this board are fixated with the Middle East, and don't care about the N Korean threat,"
The folks on this thread are light years ahead of you!
Bush has picked up the load, of a failed
administration. Ha never publicly put the blame on
anyone else. He just shouldered it, and is setting
out to fix it!!
To: Libertina
I think he seems subdued as well, could be the subject matter.Of course he's subdued. What would people think if he was joking around with the reporters when talking about war and terrorism.

"we will give people a chance to leave... inspectors, journalists"
AND he is giving Saddam ONE last chance to give himself up.
Do we need another 9/11 for some people to understand what he is talking about?

Terry Moran, ABC: What went wrong? Why is the rest of the world against your leadership?"Because of you, Terry, you asshole, and all the rest of you anti-American scumbags at ABCNEWS, the BBC, and dozens of other America-hating, Republican-hating news organizations. Now sit down and SHUT UP. Even better, get the f--- out of my East Room. NOW."

It's obvious some are determined to disrupt this thread; just don't take the bait. Well said.
He knows exactly what he's doing and he's striking just the right tone. He may not be saying what some folks expected to hear, but he's making it very clear that his decisions are not based on what others think. His purpose is to protect the American people and he's going to do it no matter what.

To those who are bored by President Bushes' answers, then blame the useless media. This isn't Clinton anymore who could go on for hours and tell us nothing. Some times I wish the President would ask the media "What part of Saddam wants to Kill You, do you not understand"
