NATIONS -- U.N. peacekeepers recently spotted armed U.S. Marines cutting a fence between Kuwait and Iraq, an act which was reported to the Security Council on Thursday as a possible violation of international law.
U.N. spokesman Fred Eckhard said peacekeepers who monitor a demilitarized zone set up after the 1991 Persian Gulf War between Iraq and Kuwait reported "numerous violations," since March 4 "by personnel in civilian clothes in 4 x 4 vehicles, at least some of whom were armed and identified themselves as U.S. Marines."
U.S. diplomats had no immediate comment on the matter.

You all jest, but this is exactly the sort of thing these nuts would charge us with in the World Court" and this is exactly why GW will have no part in the World Court.

Maybe the Human Panty Shields should go stand in front of the fence - that'll make those Marines think twice.

The UN will be forced to create new teams of Fence inspectors to counter this barbaric crime.

When Hans and Franz from the UN go to stop the Marines, they can have a nice chat with those Marines' 300,000 friends.

Amazing - Thanks for reporting the story, UN "peacekeepers". Wonder if they gave the Iraqi's the precise coordinates?

Surely the UN will do something about this atrocity! They can afford to ignore little things like WMD but cutting wire! in a demilitarized zone! That can not stand unchallenged.

The U.S. Marines are gonna be cutting a whole lot more than fences very soon. Stick around.

So, let me get this straight - Saddam can keep thumbing his nose at the UN for 12+ years, but the minute we cut a fence, it's a major crisis... have I got that right?

They have denied that they engaged in fence cutting and they have promised that they will not do it any more, even though they never did it in the first place. They have already begun to destroy non-existent wire cutters. I believe this shows real efforts to consider thinking about contemplating the potential of possibly moving toward ceasing the practice cutting fences, although they have no idea who might be cutting the fences and it certainly isn't them. The Security Council has decided to form a Committee For the Verification of Destruction of Wire Cutters (CFTODOWC, commonly known as "Circle Jerk") to monitor the destruction of the non-existent wire cutters and assure compliance with various UN and SC resolutions. If they fail to voluntarily de-wire cutter, they will be forcibly de-wire cutter'ed. I plead for more time to let the inspections work.
