Wow, I guess Sunday was too late for my prediction.. No sense in giving them 72 hours to comply if Powell has rock solid evidence that they are building more Al Samouds in violation of Resolution 1441.

Tonight the President will explain to the press that we are giving Saddam two weeks to show us everything including the stuff we KNOW he has based on intelligence.

He will also say that we will move forward multilaterally with all our allies WITHOUT another U.N. vote.

It's in the East Room so the idiot reporters can ask the same question a thousand times and it will finally sink in that we're about ready to roll even though they won't believe it because they think the peacenicks are in charge of national security.

I believe the UN will still get a chance to vote on the second resolution. Now that we've gone down that road for six months, I'd like their irrelevance to be on the table. Going into Iraq today let's them off the hook.

"This just in..."

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) will hold a news conference on Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. EST, the White House announced.

White House spokesman Ari Fleischer (news - web sites) said Bush would have an opening statement about successes in the war against terrorism and the importance of disarming Iraqi President Saddam Hussein (news - web sites).

U.S. and Pakistani authorities are questioning Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, al Qaeda's operations chief, who was captured in Pakistan during the weekend. His arrest is considered a major victory for Bush, who has been accused of ignoring the war on terror because of his preoccupation with Iraq (news - web sites).

With the United States seemingly on the brink of an invasion, Fleischer made clear the news conference was not for any critical announcements about the Iraq crisis.

"This is a news conference. This is not a scheduled announcement of anything," Fleischer said.

Fleischer told reporters that Bush had not made up his mind to use military force to rid Baghdad of its alleged weapons of mass destruction and depose Saddam.

"In the event that the president decides to use force, the president always thinks its important to communicate, but the president has not made any decisions about that matter," he said.

dittos.
this is a great opportunity to put a wooden dagger through the vampire that the UN has become.

The UN was a great concept but it basically sucks the blood out of advancing nations in order to give hand outs to people who are anti-freedom.

Why else should a nation like Syria be given the legitimacy of being on a committee like the Security Council?

OIL FIELDS BLOWING UP!

TEHRAN, March 6, 2003. /from RIA Novosti correspondent Nikolai Terekhov/. - Iraq has dropped bombs hitting 2,500 oil fields that cover a vast area.

According to the IRNA agency, the bombing near Sharjeh resulted in the explosion of an oil refinery near Kirkuk.

Some oil-bearing wells were mined with antitank mines.

The Iraqi Army units are ditching around near Baghdad and Kirkuk round the clock to resist the US Army.
