I thought John F. Kerry was the first Jewish candidate?

I am still waiting for somebody to explain to me how Graham can be ON the floor and abstain because of health reasons.

Was that for political health reasons?

(That is why Republicans must get him confirmed. If they fail, they haven't a prayer of getting any conservative nominee approved. They might as well pack it in.)

False premise. Everthing about logic and reasoning starting from a false premise is total bull $hit so i didn't bother reading the rest of your post. Further, if you don't see what other methods of getting past this impasse are then you should just watch and not comment.

Did you actually think Bush and Frist didn't see this fillibuster coming ? Did you actually think choosing Estrada as the first was becaue he was most important ? Its all strategy. The rats loose either way in a wedge issue such as this. Either they take the hit from their proabortion folks or they take the hit from the hispanics.

The bigger long term prize is the hispanic vote and the longer this goes the better R's will do in next election.

Do you suppose that people think that cutting and pasting somebody else's words make them true?

If that is the case, I bet I can find a lot of nasty stuff on the internet about Rush Limbuagh, et al..

Would that make them true?

Lieberman was Jewish longer. Maybe during the primaries, Lieberman can say that Kerry isn't Jewish enough (they like that argument, don't they?).

Almost forget the not so small detail you miss. Their really is no practical difference between being willing and able to use force and using that force. So, in one way I agree with you that the R's are making a mistake by conveying any signs that they are not willing and able to go 24/7, to the extent they do they increase the chances they need to.

"So, the first Jewish candidate voted to block the first Hispanic candidate? I guess that running on being the first of something is no longer an option."

He is a fake and a fraud!

He has his finger in the wind! He will watch his caucus
carefully, and when he sees the crack, will not wait
for the vote, but will call a press conference instead!!

Take a note: anything that a poster disagrees with is cause to turn tale and run. Evidently facts are like kryptonite to some people.

Miguel Estrada is a Catholic. In order to remain a Catholic in good standing, he has to be Pro-Life.

However, in order to become a judge, Mr. Estrada evidently has to become Pro-Choice, at least according to the RATS.

Of course, one could do as Mr. Estrada has already done -- state that he will uphold the law as written (i.e. Roe v. Wade) and refrain from voicing his personal belief.

However, that is not good enough for the RATS -- A Catholic must now relinquish his faith/soul in order to serve in the public arena.

As a Catholic, I find this appalling. It is now discrimination against religion as well as race, and I feel we should highlight this new bias too -- especially since Catholics are more than 20% of the population.
