No, it's not a good one. The next time someone thinks of a 'witty' Nodong-1 joke, send it as a private reply to yourself, and have a ball. It got old years ago, and it's not getting any funnier with age.

I hope we have some of those Neutron bombs in stock somewhere, would be nice to de-populate the upper peninsula.

nukes but they have us outgunned on the ground I would think that a few Spookies and some of our other toys would level the field on the ground. (no pun intended)

" As someone with family in South Korea, it's definitely not a joke to me. I look for your posts every day, and appreciate them more than you know. "
I am an American living in Japan , married to a Japanese woman and have a 15 year old daughter and three Boston terriers ...I can tell you that we are getting awfully afraid that a bomb or bombs will almost inevitably fall on these islands UNLESS the USA takes North Korea out NOW !

Please don't let any "dreg posts" offend you so much that you stop making posts. People who haven't lived in an Asian countries don't understand that it's different on the Rim. Anomalies ad aberrations abound, and your posts are valuable. Things we wouldn't imagine - like the "underwear sales." FReegards

The US government believes North Korea is preparing to test fire a Nodong missile which could reach Japan, a report said, quoting a highly placed American official.
In a dispatch from Washington dated Wednesday, Kyodo News said the US has increased its alert level because of the information.
"What we are concerned about at this point is Nodong," which has a range of about 1,300 kilometres, Kyodo's Japanese edition quoted the official as saying.
Washington was "carefully monitoring" North Korea's activities because "some developments were seen" in the Stalinist nation, the official told Kyodo.
The official implied the analysis was based on information from spy satellites, Kyodo said, adding that the US government would inform the Japanese government when the test launch becomes imminent.
Officials from the Japan Defence Agency were not available for immediate comment.
On February 24, North Korea launched a ground-to-ship missile into international waters in the Sea of Japan, sparking new security concerns in Tokyo and Washington.

"We're on alert here in Alaska. If they hit my car and dent the hood or scratch the paint, somebody will be in big trouble."
I hope you don't have State Farm.

Thanks for looking. NK is probably more a menace to Japan and SK, but I haven't forgotten their attempt to hit Alaska- I wonder if all the dictator-enablers in Hollyweird are feeling a little nervous?

afraid that a bomb or bombs will almost inevitably fall on these islands In the 50s we were not afraid exactly, but expecting Russian nukes to land all over America. Nuclear disaster books and movies were hot topics and bomb shelters were being built in every new subdivision. Civil Defense was created and shelters in many large buildings in all cities were stocked with emergency rations. Is anything like this happening in your islands? Are people digging in or just becoming angst-ridden?

I was born in '52 so remember well Air Raid drills , bomb shelters , etc...
Nothing like that happening here . Obviously eveyone is well aware of the danger , but being Japanese they carry on as if nothing is wrong and don't even mention the Korean threat unless you grill them about it . That's my experience here in the boondocks of Kumamoto anyway .
